The Invisible Insurrection

Description

This book is divided into three parts. The first part is a self-dialogue about the questions that citizens are asking concerning the direction of the country and about my own questions as a citizen that grew up as a grandson of Irish immigrant grandparents and as a son of Catholic-registered democrat parents that lived through the depression and World II. The second part speaks about the shift in consciousness from a theistic-spiritual-scientific attitude to an atheistic-materialistic-social science attitude toward the human being that appears to be taking over the speech and behaviors in our civic, educational, political and social institutions. The contents of the second part are the insights derived from reflecting on the self-talk about the questions that citizens have been asking about the direction of the country. The third part speaks about a critical common-sense approach to think clearly in the light of the ideals of our common faith to identify the reasons why we are so concerned about the direction of the country in specific institutions, and to think about practical ways to nurture within our institutions the critical common-sense practice of our common faith in the beliefs of the Declaration of Independence and the principles of The Constitution.
